The Integrative counselling/psychotherapy approach I use has been developed specifically for working with young people and is structured to suit each individual and the complexity of their need. Whilst creating a trusting and accepting relationship where young people feel safe and supported, my work also aims to develop each individuals strengths, resilience and personal resources.

I have worked as a Counsellor with children, teenagers and young adults in a number of charitable and specialist services and have additional training in working with alcohol misuse, substance misuse, sexual assault and childhood abuse. Through my work with Home-Start High Peak (Buxton) and Sure-Start High Peak (Buxton) I have also supported young people and their families in community settings. Since gaining my Level 4 Counselling Diploma in 2008 I have undertaken additional training with organisations including:

Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Board
Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board
Place2Be (National Children's Charity & School Counselling Services)
Winston's Wish (Children & Young People's Bereavement Support)
SeaChange (Domestic Violence & Abuse)
Derbyshire Rape Crisis
Derbyshire Alcohol Advice Service
Independence Trust (Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health Services)
Victim Support

I undertake regular Clinical Supervision and maintain my continuing professional development in order to ensure young people receive a safe, professional and effective service.
